DYI At-Home Acne Mask
Acne is the most common skin conditions in humans of all ages – an estimated 80% of people experience acne at some point in their lives. While teenagers are more vulnerable to acne due to drastic hormone changes experienced during puberty, acne can affect people of all ages.
According to the National Institutes of Health Magazine, acne is “A disease that affects the skin's oil glands. The small holes in your skin (pores) connect to oil glands under the skin. These glands make a substance called sebum. The pores connect to the glands by a canal called a follicle. When the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, a pimple grows.”
If your acne is severe, it is important to go visit your healthcare provider as it may be a symptom of something more complicated that is going on in your body. If the bout of acne is not serious or abnormal, it is likely you can treat it at home.
One of the first things you should consider is taking a natural supplement, like Balance Blends Acne Be Gone, which contains 9 powerful herbs used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to recuperate internal and external balance.
Another thing you can try is an at-home acne mask. To make an effective DIY at-home acne mask, we want to include ingredients that fight the bacteria that causes acne and the inflammation and redness that usually goes along with it.
The recipe we will show you below has honey and cinnamon to fight the bacteria and turmeric to fight the inflammation and redness.
What You Will Need:
- 3 tbsp. honey
- 2 tsp. cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- In a small bowl, add the honey.
- Mix in the cinnamon and turmeric powder until smooth.
- Using a brush or the back side of a spoon, spread the mixture evenly across acne-affected areas, or across your whole face.
- Let it work on your skin for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Wash it off with warm water, or with a washcloth.
- Pat your face dry with a clean towel.
For an extra boost, when your skin is dry, take a just-used green tea bag and pat it on the acne affected area of your face. The green tea helps to calm redness and swelling.
